Notes
Spell Set: "Act 3, warp-born glyph". (Idea) It surfaces at the Sallow warp's lip and fades once act3.stage ≥ 10. After that it resurfaces at fresh warps (glyph hunts), and a stolen copy sells at the Undermere fence for a lot of copper.

Crown Surge is the Facet way in miniature: more power than any Evane assist, paid for by the caster.

- Sallowbank, the Sallow warp, the Sallow Road
- Beat
- The warps reach Sallowbank. Aske leaves the ferry and comes along.
- Set piece
- Glints in Sallowbank by daylight
- Spells
- Crown Surge (warp-born, optional); Girdle Gate (reflected, optional)
What happens: (Idea) Two kinds of mark lie around the warp, and Aske reads both without explaining them yet: pale blue Warden seal-stones set in a ring, every one cracked; and amber chips and spoil heaps where someone has been digging warp-born glyphs out of the bank. The glyph-hunters are digging now. Sabe admits the cut has worked this crack for a year: fresh glyphs surface at fresh cracks, and fresh glyphs sell. They name Rook as their best buyer, which matters later. A warp-born glyph is surfacing in the glass at the warp's lip: Crown Surge.

The spell roadmap also names threads found in this act: Blight (Toll into Wither), from a Keeper's old field notebook at the Hour Stair; Rebound (Girdle Gate into Repel), a gift from a Facet cut sheltering from the storm on the Shardfield road; and Deep Cut (Crown Surge into Bevel Lash, both Facet), taught by Iver's cut if the player robbed the Vault for him (
vault.outcome == 1), otherwise found carved in the Undermere. From Walkthrough: Act 3 › Spells gained › Other cross-side threads to point players at
Crown Surge's fading. A warp-born glyph that is gone after
act3.stage10, then only at fresh warps (glyph hunts) or as a stolen copy at the Undermere fence: the first test of time-limited glyphs.
Against it (Ondine and Stop-both paths): Iver fights with the Culet cut behind him. Every 5 s a cut pushes the gauge 12 towards Shattered and opens a crack under the player, which deals damage every second until a mirrored cast at 70% or better seals it, or a parallel cast pushes it off the Pane. Iver's own spells are Facet: Bevel Lash ignores shields, so Brace and Facet Seal don't stop it, but Drift dodges it. Every third attack he draws Crown Surge, paying in his own blood, and his next cut lands for 40: Hush silences him through it, or Prism Snare stops it. At half HP he pulls his sleeves back and the player sees his sealed palms in close-up (a short cut-in), and his casting speeds up.

- What it does
- Cut every 5 s: gauge 12 towards Shattered and a crack (3 damage a second until cleared). Bevel Lash 18 (ignores shields) every 6 s. Crown Surge every third attack, then a 40-damage cut. Faster at half HP.
- Counter
- Mirrored casts seal cracks, parallel casts clear them; Drift for Bevel Lash; Hush or Prism Snare for the surge.

[ ] 28. The naming lists. Story Bible § 7 gives Veil (Still Choir), Slip (Waymakers), Crown Ward and Culet Spike (Facets) as examples. The roadmap uses none of them: the Choir has Hush, Echo, Calm and Listen; the Waymakers Gale, Drift, Squall and Tailwind; the Facets Facet Seal, Bevel Lash, Prism Snare, Crown Surge, Table Mend, Girdle Gate and Pavilion Wake. Recommendation (new): swap the § 7 examples for roadmap spells, and keep Veil, Slip, Crown Ward and Culet Spike as spare names for later warp-born glyphs. Sources:

[ ] 39. Crown Surge as warp-born. Settled for now by VEL-63, confirm. Should a main-list spell be time-limited? Recommendation: yes, as the first taste of warp-born glyphs. It surfaces at the Sallow warp, fades at
act3.stage10, resurfaces at fresh warps later, and a stolen copy sells at the Undermere fence, so it can't be missed for good. Sources:spell-roadmap.md Q8.From Walkthrough: Act 4 › Open questions for Ray, all tabs › Spells and casting
[ ] 46. Facet power. Should Facet spells hit harder because they are harder to draw? Recommendation: slightly, about 1.2× an Evane spell of the same role, and always with a cost or condition attached, as Crown Surge has. Sources:

[ ] 69. No glyph for sale. Settled for now by VEL-63, confirm. Is a glyph ever sold? Recommendation: no honest shop sells one. The Undermere fence is the one exception: stolen fragments of Hasten and Crown Surge, for fallen players only, and they still have to be traced. Sources:
