Chapter
Defence
Three answers to an incoming hit: absorb some of it (Brace), absorb more of it (Facet Seal), or dodge it (Drift). Facet Seal is unchanged from the prototype.
| Spell | Faction, style | Shape | Size, breath | Effect | Learned |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brace | Wardens, mirrored | A bracket: outward, sharp corner, down, sharp corner, back inward | 30 mm, 600 ms | Shield 15 | Act 1, taught by Aske hand over hand (she traces it with you, but doesn't cast) |
| Drift | Waymakers, parallel | Both thumbs: one straight stroke up and to the right | 26 mm, 500 ms | The enemy's next attack within 4 s misses | Act 2, Long Road |
| Facet Seal | Facets, asymmetric | Left: a circle, counter-clockwise from the top. Right: a square, clockwise from the top-left corner | 28 mm, 800 ms | Shield 22 | Act 2, split glyph: circle given in Lanternfall, square found in the Shardfield |
Drift has the shortest breath in the set on purpose: a dodge is cast in reaction, so it has to be quick.
