Open Story Questions
Decided (Ray, 2 Nov 2026)
| Question | Answer | Where it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Is Velan also the land's name? | Yes, for now. | Section 1 |
| Both sides caused the Breaking? | Run with it for now. | Sections 1 and 4 (Act 3) |
| Keep the Waymakers and give them Gale? | Yes. | Section 2 |
| Does each faction own one drawing style? | Yes. | Section 2 |
| Inciting warp partly an Evane mistake? | Yes. | Section 4 (Act 3) |
| Mentor's name, gender, backstory | Claude to draft: Aske Tarran, a woman of about sixty, ex-Warden captain who helped freeze Corran. Ray: decent. | Section 3 |
| Facet spells need two halves found separately? | Maybe; there can be many kinds of glyph. Split glyphs are now one of five kinds. | Section 3 |
| Un-teaching: lore or mechanic? | Claude to decide: a real but narrow mechanic. Ray: decent. | Section 2 |
| One ending or several? | Open-ended for now. | Section 4 (Act 4) |
| Why two hands? | It's the Evane's "tradition", certainly not required. A one-armed character could be the gateway to the other side. | Section 1; Rook in sections 2 and 5 |
| Do Tamsin and Rook travel with the player? | Sure, worth exploring. | Section 5 |
| Can evil players redeem themselves? | Yes, but it gets exponentially harder the further the player falls to one side. | Section 4 (Act 3) |
| History's time scale | Thousands of years: an old world with lots of lore and legends. | Section 1 (History, legends) |
| Drafts: Aske, glyph kinds, un-teaching | Decent; kept as working drafts. | Sections 2 and 3 |
Still open
- Is Rook the one-armed gateway, or should it be a new character?
- "Falls to one side": deeper into evil, deeper into one side's camp, or both?
- History dates: the Evening about 5,000 years ago and the Breaking about 2,000. Right?
- Who are Aske's two letters addressed to? The seals are set (pale blue for the Twinhold Warden, amber for Lanternfall); the names are not.
